Sheridan senior wrestler Becca Oetken has some very high hopes for the 2024-25 season, that being a 3rd State Championship. Girls wrestling is entering its 3rd year as being a stand-alone sport and Oetken will be the favorite at 190 pounds. She went 9-0 in the Casper/Jerry Quinlan Tournament over the weekend with 7 pins. Most of those falls took less than a minute.

A year ago, Oetken went 31-0 en route to the 190-pound State Championship, and in her sophomore season, she posted a record of 25-4, earning her first State Title at 235 pounds. She's fundamentally sound on the mat with a very determined demeanor. She will continue her wrestling career at North Central College in Illinois which has a very good women's wrestling program.

We had a chance to chat with Ms. Oetken about her season and career to date.
