The Upton boys basketball team has recorded 7 straight seasons of at least 20 wins and capped the 2023-24 campaign with the 3rd State Championship in the last 4 years thanks to a 55-36 win over Saratoga in the 1A Final on Saturday. The Bobcats held a 34-19 advantage at the intermission and shot 47% from the field for the game. They did this by the way with just 6 turnovers with 11 assists on 24 field goals. The Bobcats got a terrific effort from Ethan Schiller who dropped in 17 points on 8-12 from the floor. Rhett Watt added 14 and Logan Timberman had 10.

Saratoga needed a 30-foot buzzer beater to win their opening round game of the 1A State Tournament but found some rough sledding on Saturday going 6-22 from the field in the 2nd half. The Panthers also struggled from the 3-point line going 3-18 and got 14 points from Finn Rolseth and 9 from Hazen Williams. Saratoga went 19-5 this season and has finished no lower than 3rd at the  1A State Tournament over the last 5 years.

Upton went 26-1 this season and has not absorbed a losing season since 2012. We have a short video of the proceedings at the Ford Center in Casper to share with you along with some images of the title contest in our gallery below. Enjoy!
