He's already flown around the world once.

He was the youngest pilot to do it, solo.

Then he was off to college where he graduated from MIT. But he never shook that love of aviation.

Matt Guthmiller moved from South Dakota to Wyoming's Alpine Air Park, where his house is also a hanger for his airplanes.

He has a popular YouTube channel that follows his air adventures.

Matt announced he'll be leaving Wyoming for his second adventure around the world.

He is now talking about flying around the world again. But this time in a much bigger, faster, and more comfortable airplane than the first time he did it.

This beautiful plane he's now flying is called a TBM 850. It's a turbo-prop, which is a jet engine that turns the prop, rather than the traditional jet engine you're used to seeing.

Matt explains his new round-the-world plans in the video below.

There is a lot of preparation still needed for this next round-the-world flight.

Matt has already learned to fly many different kinds of airplanes, as you'll see below.

He's now getting up to speed on the operations of this powerful TBM.

There's a lot of planning that goes into this kind of round-the-world travel, as you might imagine. Such an undertaking will not happen right away.

In the meantime, he is learning to fly a fighter trainer in time to compete in the Reno Air Races.

This is the last time this race will be held in Reno.

Casper, Wyoming is on the short list of new locations for the world-famous airplane race.

The photo above is Matt behind the controls of the TBM that he plans to fly around the world.

As for the fighter jet trainer he owns, and parks at his home hanger here in Wyoming:

We bought another fighter jet in Estonia as I attempt to figure out how to race at the final Reno Air Races.

As a pilot, he has accomplished a lot at a very young age.

He never seems to slow down.

After spending less than a year flying his  Aero L-39 Albatros high-performance jet trainer he has decided, yet again, to step it up.

This jet is designed and produced in Czechoslovakia by Aero Vodochody. It is the most widely used jet trainer in the world.

The plane is so good it has also flown combat missions in a light-attack role.

These videos were recorded a few months back so we are still catching on what what happened.

In the video below you can watch Matt and a friend leaving Wyoming, early in the morning, to go pick up the new jet aircraft.

He has just a couple of months to train for the races.

No pressure Matt.

Matt keeps his planes at his home in Alpine Wyoming, a neighborhood built just for pilots who want to keep their planes at home, like your car in your garage.

I'm sure we won't be able to keep both jet fighters at his house.

He really doesn't have room for the first one, along with his Bananza.

In the video below Matt flies with the commander of TOP GUN!

No, his call sign is not MAVERICK!

Still, what an experience! Matt learns a lot from a world master of the jet flying craft.

You can't get better lessons than this.

Let's back up and have a look at who Matt is and how he got started in all of this.

Born in Aberdeen South Dakota, Matt Guthmiller has always wanted to fly.

Now that dream is part of his everyday life.

Matt received his private pilot certificate on his 17th birthday, has gone on to earn his commercial pilot certificate and numerous ratings, has flown dozens of aircraft, and logged more than 2700 hours in the air (500 when he started the trip).

On May 31, 2014, Matt set out on a 44.5-day trip of over 30,000 miles in an attempt to become the youngest person to ever circumnavigate the globe on a solo flight.

MIT Student To Become Youngest Person To Fly Around World Solo: the rising MIT sophomore will to take off from San Diego, California, in a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza and head east — and then keep going.

He'll make stops along the way, but his goal is to become the youngest person to fly solo around the world. (WBUR BOSTON).

What does a young man do after he's flown around the globe, solo?

He now owns this beautiful home in a community built for flyers around this airport called Alpine Park Wyoming.

This means those of us who follow his adventures get to see more Western and Teton flying.

That is about as beautiful as it gets.

In this next video, he takes one of his pilot neighbors for a flight around western Wyoming just for the flight of two private pilots flying over western Wyoming.

Do you need any other excuse?

Matt's YouTube page is well worth subscribing to and exploring.

It is filled with flying adventures and interesting places that he has gone to that you might have never seen.

"Now, I'm sharing all kinds of aviation adventures with you! Ride along as we explore the world from the air and get a close-up look at some of aviation's best flight experiences and destinations," says Matt.
