Cheyenne's Dancing with the Stars Do-Si-Dos Into Town September 22

Dust off your boots and don your nicest cowboy hat; it's line-dancing time. This year's Dancing with the Stars returns to Cheyenne on September 22 with a change in venue. Dancers will take the stage at the Archer Event Center (3801 Archer Parkway). It's a fitting selection, considering the theme of this year's event.

Amanda Fiske, who plans the event for the Boys & Girls Club, described the 2023 theme as an homage to Wyoming's cultural roots. "This year’s theme is country-western, which we felt was a perfect fit for our new venue at Archer Event Center. While this will still be a formal, gala-style event, it is an opportunity to embrace our Wyoming roots and celebrate who we are as a community."

What to Expect Attending the Gala

Dancing with the Stars is, ultimately, an event raising funds to support the Boys and Girls Club of Cheyenne. The event features live music and dancing entertainment, performances by Boys & Girls club members, delicious catered meals (this year courtesy of Uncle Fred's catering), and a paddle auction.

This year's event features six pairs of dancers who will allemande, sashay, and twirl their partners along as they vie for "The People's Choice Award." Attendees will select their favorite pair to decide which dancers are worthy of the honor.

This year's dancers include:

  • TJ Forwood, United States Attorney's Office, and Elizabeth Roof, En Avant Dance Studio
  • Ray Gallegos, HUB International, and Heather Hansen, En Avant Dance Studio
  • Jeff White, Cheyenne City Council & Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, and Michelle Ordes, Act Two Studios
  • Tara Nethercott, Wyoming Senate & Crowley Fleck PLLP, and David Urquidez, Dance Spirit Dance Studio
  • Mistie Woods, #1 Properties, and Troy Selden, Dance Spirit Dance Studio
  • Taylor Grae Albert, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming, and Jarrod Burton, Act Two Studios

Dancing and Dining for a Good Cause

The Cheyenne DWTS is the Boys and Girls Club's largest annual fundraising event. The event "allows us to keep membership fees low while still providing a high-quality, engaging Club experience. We currently operate five different sites across Laramie County, and these funds allow us to continue growing and adapting to meet the needs of the community." explains Fiske.

Tickets for the event start at $150 and include dinner, entertainment, and auction access. Find out more info on DWTS here.
