According to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service, areas of southeast Wyoming could see winds of up to 85 miles per hour over the next couple of days.

While the forecast as of Sunday morning was calling for wind speeds in Cheyenne to top out at around 65 miles per hour, Laramie could see gusts of up to 85 miles per hour.

The agency issued a weather statement on Sunday morning that included the following:

''For wind-prone locations, the strongest winds will be Monday and Monday night, with gusts of 70 to 80 mph possible. This includes portions of Interstates 25 near Bordeaux and 80 near Arlington. 🏳 Strong westerly cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, especially along I-25 from Douglas to Cheyenne. 🏳 Strong winds may linger through Tuesday into early Wednesday morning for wind-prone locations.''

Rain and snow are also possible. The agency posted the following on its website:

Today will be partly cloudy, windy and mild with high temperatures from 72 to 80 degrees east of I-25, and 65 to 70 degrees west of I-25. Monday and Tuesday will be windy and cooler with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Highs both days will range from 50 to 63 degrees east of I-25, and 44 to 50 degrees west of I-25.
