Authorities Looking For SUV In Connection With Wyoming Homicide
The Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a black Honda SUV that may be connected to a recent homicide in the county.
The victim in the case is a 30-year-old man whose body was found by a passerby over the weekend.
That's according to a Tuesday afternoon news release from the agency.
According to the release, the body of 30-year-old Colter Wesley Watsabaugh [photo above] was found on Sunday afternoon near a dirt side road in Reliance, north of Rock Springs. Watsabaugh was originally from Teton County, but he had been living and working in Rock Springs prior to his death.
The release says sheriff's office investigators, working with the Sweetwater County Coroner's Office and Sweetwater County Attorney have determined that the death was a homicide.
The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is helping with the investigation.
The release says a suspect has been arrested in connection with the death, but the suspect's identity is not being released to protect the integrity of the investigation and pending charges in the case.
Meanwhile, asking for information on a vehicle identified as a 2004 black Honda Pilot which may be connected to the case.
The release says the Honda had a license plate number of 4-44200.
But it's possible that the plates have been removed and the vehicle may have been dumped in a remote area.
Authorities are cautioning anyone who may know the whereabouts of the car against tampering with it and are asking anyone with information to call the sheriff's office detective division at (307) 922-5430.
