A 38-year-old Cheyenne man is facing serious charges following an alleged alcohol-fueled domestic dispute.

Felony Arrest

According to a booking sheet, a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy arrested Timothy John Bach at 3:43 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, for aggravated assault and battery - causes or attempts to cause serious bodily injury, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Bach was also arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery, a crime punishable by up to six months in jail, up to a $750 fine, or both.

The arresting deputy says alcohol was involved.

Bach was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with the same crimes he was arrested for.

Warrant

Then, at 7 a.m., police served inmate Bach with a warrant out of Cheyenne Municipal Court for failure to appear.

Initial Court Appearance

The following afternoon, Feb. 13, Bach was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the aggravated assault and domestic battery charges.

Chambers appointed Bach a public defender and set his preliminary hearing for Friday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m.

Chambers then asked for the state's bond recommendation.

"I would note numerous priors for possession," the state said. "That with the failures to appear in Municipal Court and the nature of this crime, the state believes that $15,000 cash is appropriate."

"The Municipal warrant, I was in jail at the time and there was some miscommunication between the jail and the court," Bach told Chambers.

"These charges ... I was being attacked by somebody, and I don't really even know him very much. I was at my sister's house. I'm not a violent person or anything like that," Bach added. "I would ask if you could, I mean I know you're probably not going to be able to do an unsecured bond or an OR, but if you could do like a cash or surety bond because my family, my kids and stuff are going to wind up homeless if I'm not getting to work."

Bond Set at $15,000 Cash or Surety

"I will set $15,000 cash or surety," Chambers told Bach. "If you're able to post that, I'll set conditions, otherwise, that bond will be readdressed at your preliminary hearing on the 20th."

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
