Cheyenne Ward I Council Members Nominate Candidate For Open Seat
Cheyenne City Council Ward I representatives Pete Laybourn and Jeff White have nominated Laurence Wolf to fill a vacant seat on the Cheyenne City Council.
Thirteen People Applied For The Open Seat
The open Ward I seat had been held by long-time councilman Scott Roybal prior to his death in September. The council took applications from 13 people to fill the open seat.
Laybourn and White interviewed those candidates, narrowing the list to four semifinalists. Besides Wolf, the other semifinalists were David Cook, Maren Kallas, and Tamara Trujillo.
The full council still needs to vote on the nominees. That vote is slated for the next full council meeting on Monday, November 10.
Whoever is chosen will fill out the remainder of Roybal's term, which runs through next year. They also will be eligible to run for the seat in the 2026 elections.
