A 57-year-old transient and a 33-year-old Cheyenne man are facing felony charges after allegedly conspiring to deliver fentanyl.

Drug Investigation Leads to Felony Charges

According to booking sheets, Wayne Edgar Rosson and Ethan John Zimmerman were arrested on Thursday, Aug. 14, after the two were pulled over in the 1500 block of West College Drive following a narcotics investigation.

The arresting Laramie County Sheriff's deputy says investigators discovered illegal controlled substances inside Rosson's truck.

Rosson and Zimmerman were booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and each subsequently charged with conspiracy, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, up to a $25,000 fine, or both.

Rosson was also charged with possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense alleging he possessed methamphetamine and fentanyl, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both, and Zimmerman with felony possession of fentanyl alleging he possessed 34.6 grams, a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison, up to a $15,000 fine, or both.

Initial Court Appearances

On Monday, Aug. 18, Rosson and Zimmerman were seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on their charges.

Forwood appointed both men a public defender and set Rosson's bond at $4,000 cash and Zimmerman's at $7,500 cash.

Rosson's and Zimmerman's preliminary hearings were set for Thursday, Aug. 28, at 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
