Investigation Underway After Man Fatally Shot in Cheyenne
An investigation is underway after a man was fatally shot at an apartment complex in southwest Cheyenne early Saturday morning, police say.
According to a department Facebook post, officers were called to a report of shots fired at Sundance Apartments at 215 Walterscheid Blvd. at 3:30 a.m. and arrived to find several people in front of an apartment building attempting to render medical aid to a 23-year-old man who'd been shot.

Police say emergency medical personnel responded and the man was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
"There is no further risk to the public at this time as the firearm and all involved individuals are accounted for and in contact with police," the post reads.
Police say detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and those involved, and there will be a heavy police presence in the area for most of the morning.
They say updates will be released as they become available.
UPDATE: Man Arrested for Voluntary Manslaughter
Police say they've arrested 20-year-old Jadan Orr for voluntary manslaughter.
Police say Orr and several friends had been drinking alcohol at an apartment for most of the night, and at about 3:30 a.m., Orr went into a bedroom with two friends.
Police say at some point, Orr picked up an AK-47 and while manipulating it, charged it and fired it through the wall into the living room, striking the victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, in the torso.
Police say the incident remains under investigation, and any updates will be provided as they become available.

"We are fully supporting the investigation and remain committed to taking care of our airmen and their families during this extremely difficult time," Holmes added.
The base says it's fully cooperating with police, and in respect of the ongoing investigation and those affected, no further information will be released at this time.
