Knowles was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Initial Court Appearance

On Tuesday, Oct. 21, Knowles was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the charge.

Williams appointed Knowles a public defender and her preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 3:45 p.m.

Williams then asked for the state's position regarding bond.

"Ms. Knowles has a history of failures to appear. I see a failure to appear in '22 as well as '23," the state said, asking for a $5,000 cash bond.

Bond Set at $5K Cash

"Your bond is $5,000 cash," Williams told Knowles. "If you post that, I'll set bond conditions."

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
