Strickland was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with two counts of felony theft, each punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

The thefts are alleged to have occurred on or about Oct. 31.

Initial Court Appearance

On Monday, Nov. 10, Strickland was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the charges.

Forwood appointed Strickland a public defender then asked the state for recommendation on bond.

"Ms. Strickland appears to not have any prior criminal history, however, given the sheer amount of money that's alleged to have been stolen and these two felony counts, the state would be recommending a $2,000 cash bond," the state said.

"I'm supposed to be getting out for another job, starting college in a few days online," Strickland told Forwood. "I don't really have anybody other than my parents to really help me out. Is there some way we can do half of that for a bond or something?"

Bond Set at $2K Cash

"I do think the recommendation from the state is very fair under the circumstances," Forwood told Strickland. "I'm going to order a $2,000 cash."

Strickland's next court proceeding will be a preliminary hearing on Monday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m.

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
