Cheyenne Father of 4 Accused of Attacking Pregnant Partner
A 30-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly attacking the mother of his unborn child.
According to a booking sheet, a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy arrested Jeremy William Harris at 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15.

Harris was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with aggravated assault and battery - intentionally, knowingly or recklessly caused bodily injury to a woman whom he knows is pregnant, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison; and domestic battery - first offense, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail, up to a $750 fine, or both.
Initial Court Appearance
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, Harris was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the charges.
Williams appointed Harris a public defender and set his preliminary hearing for Monday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m.
Williams then asked for the state's position regarding bond.
"Of particular concern for the state is that Mr. Harris pled guilty to an amended charge of breach of peace on Oct. 6 ... and that breach of peace was pled down from a domestic with the same victim," the state said.
"I would also note that Mr. Harris is currently on bond with a property destruction case and now he's here again with a new violent felony," the state added. "The state believes that $25,000 cash will be required in this matter."
"I understand what happened, but I have four children," said Harris, who asked for a surety bond.
"I will show up for court. I have ties to the community and I'm not a flight risk," Harris added. "A surety would really mean a lot for me and my family. I have a separate residence. I live by myself. My children come over. I split custody."
"And speaking of children, your honor, the concern for the state is that the allegations against Mr. Harris would be that he attacked his longtime partner who's pregnant with his child," the state added. "The concerns for his children cut both directions here."
"The state is requesting $50,000," asked Williams.
"Yes, your honor," the state said, despite its previous request.
Bond Set at $50K Cash
"Your bond is $50,000," Williams told Harris. "The court is setting that bond based on the nature of the offense, the allegations, and the strength of the evidence contained in the affidavit of probable cause."
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
