Cheyenne Makes List Of Top 50 Best Places To Live For Families
For the second straight year, fortune.com has ranked Cheyenne as one of its 50 Best Places To Live For Families.
Cheyenne was ranked #43 on this year's list after being ranked the 39th best place in 2023. You can see the survey here.
What The Survey Said About Cheyenne
The website's comments on Cheyenne included the following: ''n addition to rich history and outdoor beauty, residents also benefit from a cost of living and housing that’s lower than average, as well as no state income tax. Cheyenne offers a small-town atmosphere with urban amenities, making it the best of both worlds and putting it on the list for the second year in a row.''
The entry also praises Cheyenne for it's rural feel, including a "lack of skyscrapers" and its downtown shops and businesses. It mentions the city's geographic location , saying ''there’s no shortage of outdoor activities and wildlife, whether that be bears or bison; you can see them up close at Terry Bison Ranch.''
Cheyenne was the only Wyoming community to make the list. Lafayette, Colorado, about 90 miles away made the list at #7. Among other communities in neighboring states, Bozeman, Montana (#26) and Sioux Falls, South Dakota (#42) made the rankings.
