Cheyenne Man Arrested Following Chase in Stolen Side-by-Side
A 30-year-old Cheyenne man is behind bars after reportedly leading authorities on a chase in a stolen side-by-side, the Laramie County Sheriff's Office says.
According to a department Facebook post, deputies were called to a burglary at the Belvoir Ranch around 6:30 this morning, Sept. 28, after Travis Lilly broke into a locked building and stole a Kawasaki side-by-side.
The ranch manager followed Lilly until he turned onto Interstate 80 at mile marker 348 (Otto Road), going east in the westbound lanes.
"A Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper located and attempted to stop the side-by-side," the post reads. "The driver refused to stop and continued down I-80 at a speed of about 35 MPH."
A deputy reportedly joined in the slow-speed chase, which came to an end near mile marker 354, after Lilly drove through a fence and onto the service road.
As of 3:45 Thursday afternoon, Lilly had yet to be formally charged.
