Cheyenne Man Charged With Felonies After Allegedly Violating Bond
A 19-year-old Cheyenne man awaiting sentencing after taking a plea deal in an attempted murder case is facing new charges after allegedly violating his bond by beating up a teen and threatening to kill him.
According to court records, police were called to 237 Norma Court around 1 a.m. on Oct. 29 in reference to an assault.
Police say the victim, Jecori Corbin, had blood on his jacket, shirt, and mouth, and had a swollen upper lip and a blue and purple bruise under his left eye.
Corbin reportedly told police that he was at a party at an unknown apartment in the Capitol Greens complex when his friend, Javoun Ousley, received a photograph of Ousley's sister with a tooth knocked out.
The two then reportedly left the party and went to Joey Carabajal Jr.'s home at 1008 W. Leisher Rd.
Police say Corbin told them he was afraid to enter the home due to issues Carbajal Jr. had with his "brother," Johnny Munoz.
Corbin reportedly told police that Carabajal Jr., Louie Carbajal, Zachary Clark Carabajal, and Jaidah Carabajal were inside the home and got angry that he was there and started yelling.
Jaidah Carabajal then reportedly said, "His brother killed my sister, kill him now," and when Corbin walked out to the backyard to leave, Carabajal Jr. dropped his gun and started punching Corbin in the face.
Corbin reportedly told police that while Carabajal Jr. was punching him, Louie Carbajal and Zachary Clark Carabajal, who also had guns, took off his shoes and stole his phone, debit card, and backpack, which contained his PlayStation 4.
And when Carabajal Jr. stopped punching him, he saw Zachary Clark Carabajal point a gun at him and say, "I'ma blow this (N-word)."
Corbin then reportedly got up and ran out the back gate and through the alley to get away, but Carabajal Jr. chased him and pointed his gun at him saying, "I'm gonna f------ kill you, Jecori."
According to a booking sheet, Carabajal Jr. was arrested in the 1100 block of West 5th Street shortly after noon on Nov. 1, after police and United States marshals contacted him on a traffic stop.
Police say Carbajal Jr. had a bench warrant for his arrest for bond revocation that had been signed that day by Laramie County District Court Judge Thomas Campbell.
Carabajal Jr. also had a warrant for one count of simple battery that had been signed by Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams on Oct. 30.
Carabajal Jr. was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on the warrants, and on Friday made his initial appearance in Circuit Court on charges of felony aggravated robbery and felony aggravated assault.
His bond was set at $20,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Carbajal Jr.'s bond revocation arraignment is set for Nov. 13 at 1:30 p.m.
