A 28-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing a felony charge after allegedly committing robbery.

According to a booking sheet, police arrested Seth Means at the Maverik at 3354 E. Lincolnway at 11:42 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24.

Police say Means was uncooperative and they had to use force to arrest him.

Means was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with robbery - threatens another with or intentionally puts him in fear of immediate bodily injury, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison; and interference with a peace officer - no injury, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail, up to a $1,000 fine, or both.

Initial Court Appearance

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, Means was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the charges.

Williams appointed Means a public defender and set his preliminary hearing for Friday, Dec. 5, at 9:30 a.m.

Williams then asked for the state's position regarding bond.

"Your honor, I do see that Mr. Means has minimal other criminal history; however, the state has significant concerns for his ties to the community," the state said. "The nature of the robbery charge gives the state significant concerns for not only the safety of the community but the safety of the victim as well. Any interference charge would give the state concern for his ability to comply with court orders. That underlying conduct relating to this interference gives the state even more concern for his ability to comply."

"For those reasons, the state believes that a cash bond is appropriate and would request $5,000 cash and no contact with the Maverik or the victim when conditions are set," the state added.

Bond Set at $5K Cash

"Your bond is $5,000 cash," Williams told Means. "If you post that, I'll set your bond conditions."

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
