From Aggravated Assault to Theft, A Local Man’s Fall From Grace
A 42-year-old Cheyenne man has been sentenced to 16 to 23 years in prison on charges stemming from multiple incidents in 2024, police say.
According to a department Facebook post, Jason William Ming was recently sentenced in Laramie County District Court to 10 to 12 years for aggravated assault and battery - threatens to use a drawn deadly weapon, four to seven years for felony theft, and two to four years for a probation revocation.
The sentences will run consecutively.
Gun Threat
On Sept. 2, 2024, Ming threatened his wife with a gun during an altercation at their Cheyenne apartment.

Ming's wife reported the incident to police on Jan. 14, and he was arrested two days later.
Ming Connected to Walmart Thefts
"During the investigation, detectives also connected Ming to 15 thefts at Walmart between October and December 2024," the post reads. "He stole more than $1,000 worth of merchandise."
Police say Ming, who has a lengthy criminal history with several prior felony convictions in Wyoming and California, was on probation at the time of his arrest.
