$250K Cash Bond Set for Cheyenne Man Facing Child Porn Charges
A 65-year-old Cheyenne man is being held on a quarter million-dollar cash bond after authorities reportedly found child pornography on his phone.
Search Warrant Leads to Child Porn, Felony Charges
According to a booking sheet, on Monday, Sept. 22, detectives booked Dennis James Vogt into the Laramie County Detention Center on five counts of possession of child pornography pursuant to a search warrant executed on his phone on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Laramie County Sheriff's Office.
Each count is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Initial Court Appearance
The following morning, Sept. 23, Vogt was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the charges.
Williams appointed Vogt a public defender and asked for the state's position regarding bond.
"Mr. Vogt has a history of probation violations from 2003, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2020 ... a history of failure to appear from 2025, as well as a history of being a fugitive from justice in 2003 ... and a history of other felony charges unrelated to these from 2002, 1997, and 2025," the state said, saying it had concerns about Vogt's ability to comply with court orders.
The state said it also had "significant concern for the safety of the community" given the nature of the child pornography charges.
"For those reasons the state believes that a cash bond is appropriate and would request $250,000 cash," the state said.
