
Cheyenne Seeks New Leader To Boost Local Tourism Efforts
An organization that works to encourage visitation to Cheyenne and Laramie County is looking for a new president and CEO, according to a news release.
Dominic Bravo, who had been serving in both capacities for Visit Cheyenne. recently was named by Governor Mark Gordon to head the State Office of Tourism.
What Qualifications Are They Looking For?
The Visit Cheyenne Board of Directors will be taking resumes for anyone interested in the job until Dec. 15. According to the news release "The Board of Directors is seeking a strategic and community-minded leader to guide Visit Cheyenne through its next phase of growth and innovation. The new CEO will provide leadership across tourism promotion, sales, public relations, community engagement, and destination development, ensuring alignment with the Board’s long-term vision for the Cheyenne area’s visitor economy."
Visit Cheyenne is funded by the 2 percent lodging tax which is earmarked to promote tourism The President and CEO reports to the county's Tourism Joint Powers Board. Among other things the Visit Cheyenne leader include include "advancing Visit Cheyenne’s strategic plan, overseeing financial stewardship, strengthening community partnerships, and protecting the local 2 percent lodging tax that supports tourism programs."
