Three Cheyenne residents are facing felony charges after allegedly conspiring together to cash a fake check.

According to arrest records, police were called to the U.S. Bank at 1437 Prairie Ave. shortly before 1 p.m. on Monday, June 26, after the manager contacted them about a fraudulent check being passed.

It was reported that the vehicle was still in the drive-thru, and police arrived to find 31-year-old Melvin Jonathan Watson Jr. in the driver's seat, 22-year-old Alyscia Florencia Sloan in the front passenger seat, and 28-year-old Timothy James Garner in the rear passenger seat.

Police say the fraudulent check, for $900, had Garner's name and signature on it, and the trio admitted that their intentions were to cash the fraudulent check at U.S. Bank and to split the money.

Police say they also found a container with a useable amount of marijuana in it inside the vehicle, which Watson admitted was his.

A small amount of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl were also reportedly located inside Sloan's purse.

The three were arrested and each charged with conspiracy. Garner was also charged with forgery, Sloan with misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl, and Watson with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Watson was also served yesterday, June 28, with a Laramie County District Court warrant for revocation of bond on original charges of domestic battery-third offense or subsequent and misdemeanor property destruction.

The three are currently being held in the Laramie County Detention Center on $1,000 cash bonds awaiting July 5 preliminary hearings.
