
Cheyenne City, Laramie County, State Of Wyoming And Federal Offices Closed Tuesday
All non-essential governmental offices, ranging from Cheyenne City Offices to Federal Agencies such as the U.S. Postal Service and others will be closed on Tuesday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
Cheyenne residential trash, recycling, and yard waste pickups which would normally happen on Tuesday will be conducted on Wednesday, Wednesday pickups move to Thursday, and Thursday pickups to Friday, according to a news release,
City closures include the Solid Waste Transfer Station (220 N. College Drive), Happy Jack Landfill, Compost Facility (3714 Windmill Road), and Household Hazardous Waste Facility (220 N. College Drive).
City buses will not run, and the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and the BEAST facility will all be closed. However, the Ice and Events Center will be open, as will the City Golf Courses. The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will also be open.
Banks will also be closed, although mobile banking services and ATMs will generally be available. But some processing times may be delayed until the next day.
Laramie County School District#1 schools are closed. However, Laramie County School District#2 schools are open.
Local Veterans Day Events
Great Clips outlets across the United States are offering free haircuts to veterans and active duty service members on Veterans Day.
-American Legion Post Six at 2001 East Lincolnway will hold a Veteran's Day observance between 11 a.m. and noon.
-The Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum will offer free admission to veterans between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m..
Various other businesses, including some local restaurants are also offering Veterans specials.
