
Tense Moments at Cheyenne Walmart as Robbery Unfolds
A 46-year-old transient is facing felony charges following an incident at a Cheyenne Walmart.
Arrest Details
According to a booking sheet, police arrested Jerome William Lewis at the Walmart at 580 Livingston Ave. at 7:32 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19.

It's alleged that Lewis stole merchandise from the store, during which he threatened two people with a cutting instrument, putting them in fear of immediate bodily injury.
Lewis was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with robbery - threatens another with or intentionally puts him in fear of immediate bodily injury and burglary, both felonies punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
Initial Court Appearance
On Monday, Feb. 23, Lewis was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the charges.
Forwood appointed Lewis a public defender then asked the state for their recommendation on bond.
Bond Set at $5,000 Cash
The state recommended a $2,000 cash bond, but Forwood made it a $5,000 cash bond, saying, "The threating with a weapon is concerning to the court."
Lewis' next court date will be a preliminary hearing on Monday, March 2, at 10 a.m.
