Cheyenne Woman With Lengthy Rap Sheet Hit With Robbery Charge
A 41-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing a felony charge after allegedly stealing a woman's purse, ID, and keys, injuring her in the process.
Warrant for Robbery
According to a booking sheet, police arrested Jessica Olivares at 214 E. 23rd St. (Cheyenne Regional Medical Center) at 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11.
Olivares was being sought on a warrant for robbery - inflicts bodily injury, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
She was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where she was booked on her warrant.
Initial Court Appearance
The following afternoon, Sept. 12, Olivares was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the charge.
"It is alleged that on the 30th of August, 2025, in Laramie County, Wyoming, you stole, took and carried, led, or drove away a purse, ID, keys to a vehicle, all of which were the property of Hannah Wendtland ... and during the course of that crime inflicted bodily injury upon Hannah Wendtland," Chambers told Olivares, who said she understood why she was in court.
Chambers then appointed Olivares a public defender and asked for the state's bond recommendation.
"Ms. Olivares' criminal history shows that she cannot or will not comply with court orders," the state said. "She has contempt charges in 2018 and 2023; failure to appears in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023; probation violations, two in 2023."
"She also has a history of similar behavior, two of which involved assaultive behavior, both in 2023, as well as a theft in 2023," the state added. "With the nature of the charges as well as previous similar behavior, the state has concerns for the safety of the community as well as her ability to comply with court orders and would recommend a $3,000 cash bond."
Bond Set at $5K Cash
Chambers set Olivares' bond at $5,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was set for Monday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m.

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
