Cheyenne Woman Charged After Jailer Finds Marijuana in Her Bra
A 46-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing a felony charge after she was allegedly found hiding marijuana in her bra while being booked into jail.
Arrested on Warrant
According to a booking sheet, a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy arrested Crystyl Faythe Parker at her home in the 2000 block of East Lincolnway at 10:21 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 on a Laramie County warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on an original charge of battery.
Circuit Court Judge Sean C. Chambers signed the warrant on Oct. 21, 2024.
Strip Search Leads to Marijuana
Parker was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and strip-searched, and reportedly had a piece of aluminum foil containing marijuana in her bra.
The arresting deputy says he asked Parker two times before they entered the jail if she had any illegal substances on her and she said "no" both times.
Parker Hit With Felony Charge
Parker was subsequently charged with taking a controlled substance into jail, a felony punishable by up to three years in prison, up to a $3,000 fine, or both.
Parker appeared in Circuit Court on her warrant on Wednesday, Oct. 30, during which her bond was set at $1,000 cash and her arraignment was scheduled for Monday, Dec. 2 at 9 a.m.
She was seen on the felony charge on Thursday, Oct. 31. Bond in that case was set at $2,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.
