Cheyenne Man Charged With Murder After Autopsy Reveals Woman Was Strangled to Death

"After an autopsy, the pathologist determined that the likely cause of death was manual strangulation and ruled the death a homicide," Public Information Officer Brandon Warner said in a news release.

Through an investigation, it was determined that Robert Edward Green II was the only one at the home with Watkins the prior night.

Warner didn't know what the two's relationship was.

Green was arrested on Tuesday, March 5, on a Laramie County warrant for failing to comply with his bond conditions on an original charge of third-offense DUI.

The warrant was signed by Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams on Feb. 27, 2024.

Green was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on his warrant, and on Wednesday, charged with felony second-degree murder and felony strangulation of a household member - serious injury.

He's scheduled to make his initial court appearance this afternoon, March 7, at 2 p.m.
