Men Accused of Breaking Into Cheyenne Home, Stealing Stove
A Cheyenne man and transient are facing felony charges in connection with a burglary case.
According to arrest records, on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at about 8:22 a.m., a Laramie County Sheriff's corporal responded to 711 E. Allison Rd. for a larceny.
Upon arrival, the corporal contacted 44-year-old Cheyenne resident Kenneth Daniel Orr, who he knew to have a probable cause affidavit for his arrest, and placed him in handcuffs.
About an hour later, the corporal responded to 1706 S. Greeley Hwy. for a larceny.
Upon arrival, the corporal contacted 27-year-old Cheyenne transient William Cody Maddox, who he also knew to have a probable cause affidavit for his arrest, and handcuffed him.
The corporal says he read through the probable cause affidavit, and a fence was broken to gain entry into the house, causing $1,200 in damage, and a stove valued at $579.99 was taken from inside the house without permission.
Men Charged With Burglary, Felony Property Destruction
Orr and Maddox were taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without issue and subsequently charged with burglary and felony property destruction, both crimes punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
Bonds Set at $5K Cash
The two made their initial appearances in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday, Dec. 2, during which their bonds were set at $5,000 cash and their preliminary hearings were scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m.
Maddox was also seen in a different case. That case was a citation for misdemeanor theft, and his bond was set at $500 cash.
