Cheyenne Man Accused of Confronting Cheating Wife With Gun
A 30-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after reportedly confronting his cheating wife with a gun.
According to a booking sheet, Ulises Favela was arrested at 11:47 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14 after police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance with a firearm.
Police say Favela told them he found out his wife, who's a cook at Chick-fil-A, cheated on him while she was at work.
The Confrontation
When his wife came home from work, Favela was reportedly sitting on the couch holding an AR-style semi-automatic rifle and approached her about the cheating situation.
Police say Favela's wife told them that while her husband was sitting on the couch, he inserted a magazine into the rifle.
She then reportedly went to grab the rifle from him, struggled with him over the rifle, and was able to get the rifle from him and barricade herself inside the room.
Favela Charged With Aggravated and Domestic Assault
Favela was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without any further incidents and subsequently charged with aggravated assault and battery - threatens to use a drawn deadly weapon, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
He was also charged with misdemeanor domestic assault.
Bond Set at $5K Cash
Favela made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Oct. 15, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
