Cheyenne Man Accused of Trashing His Ex-Girlfriend’s House
A 37-year-old Cheyenne man is facing multiple charges after allegedly trashing his ex-girlfriend's house.
According to a booking sheet, police were called to a physical disturbance in the 5800 block of Star Wood Court at 9:19 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, and arrived to find Philip Adam Pineda in his ex-girlfriend's garage.
Police say Pineda's car, which was found next to the garage, had been driven into the closed garage door and had dented it beyond normal function, the front screen door on the house had been beaten and pushed in through the door frame, and a double-pane window on the house had been broken.
They say Pineda had also thrown his ex-girlfriend's Shop-Vac on the ground and into the trash, damaging it, and, after breaking into her garage, had broken into her car and taken the key out of it.
Previously Trespassed
Police say Pineda was previously trespassed from the home for harassing his ex-girlfriend.
They say he'd been at his ex-girlfriend's home earlier that day and was written two city summonses for disturbance of peace and property, one for trespassing in his ex-girlfriend's garage and the other for breaking a glass screen door valued at $140.
Resisting Arrest
When police went to handcuff Pineda and place him in the back of a patrol car, he reportedly stuck his feet out of the car to prevent officers from closing the door.
Police say after several attempts, Pineda was placed in the WRAP.
Pineda was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, cleared for jail, and then taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
Pineda Charged With 2 Felonies, 2 Misdemeanors
Pineda was subsequently charged with two felonies, including property destruction and burglary, both crimes punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
He was also charged with two misdemeanors, including criminal entry and interference with a peace officer - no injury.
Bond Set at $3K Cash
Pineda made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday, Oct. 18, during which his bond was set at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25 at 9:45 a.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
