Follow the Motion Picture Money

Carlson reportedly told the officer that her friend used Facebook Marketplace and set up a location, the parking lot at 4911 King Arthur Way outside of Carlson's apartment, to purchase a Nintendo Switch.

The friend reportedly gave Carlson the money in a white envelope to pay for the item.

Carlson then reportedly met with the seller and gave him motion picture money totaling $360 to pay for the item.

During the investigation, the officer says it was learned that Carlson was involved in a similar theft, which occurred around 1 a.m. that morning.

Carlson reportedly told the officer that she met an individual at the same location and gave them motion picture money totaling $360 to pay for Apple AirPods Pro.

The officer says Carlson had approximately $730 in motion picture money, a small plastic bag of suspected methamphetamine, a methamphetamine pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue, and a pipe with suspected marijuana residue on her.

Carlson was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.

A History of Theft

The officer says it was also discovered that Carlson had four city and two county convictions for theft/shoplifting.

Carlson was subsequently charged with fifth or subsequent offense theft, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both, as well as misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Bond Set at $2K Cash

Carlson made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Dec. 3, during which her bond was set at $2,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m.

Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
