Cheyenne Man Charged With Felony After Traffic Stop Leads to Meth
A 60-year-old Cheyenne man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in south Cheyenne.
According to a booking sheet, a police officer was patrolling in the area of West Fox Farm Road and South Greeley Highway on Halloween when she spotted a silver Jeep traveling southbound on South Greeley Highway, got behind the Jeep and ran the license plate, and the plate came back to a 1999 black Jaquar.
The officer says as she got behind the Jeep, the driver, later identified as Stoney Wade Glicco, made a fast turn onto Interstate 80, and she pulled him over.
The officer says Glicco told her he put different license plates on his Jeep because his registration was expired.
K-9 Sniff Leads to Meth
Officer Sweet and his K-9 partner, Dutch, were called to the scene, and Dutch reportedly alerted on the passenger door.
When police searched the Jeep, they reportedly found a small red zippered bag in the trunk area which contained clear plastic Ziploc bags of suspected methamphetamine.
A small blue burnt straw was also reportedly located inside one of the Ziploc bags.
Police say the suspected methamphetamine weighed 5.6 grams.
Glicco was handcuffed and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident.
Glicco was subsequently charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison, up to a $15,000 fine, or both.
He was also charged with two misdemeanors, including proof of liability insurance and expired or improper registration.
Glicco made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday, Nov. 1, during which his bond was set at $500 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
