Laramie County Inmate Accused of Spitting Bloody Saliva on Jailers
A 45-year-old Louisiana transient currently being housed in the Laramie County Detention Center is facing felony charges after reportedly spitting bloody saliva on three jailers.
Trespassing
According to a booking sheet, Harold Morris Beckley was arrested at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, after police contacted him at 3901 S. Industrial Rd. in southeast Cheyenne, where they say he was trespassing.
Beckley was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for criminal trespass - signs and interference with a peace officer - no injury, both misdemeanors.

Bloody Saliva
The following day, April 28, inmate Beckley reportedly spit bloody saliva on three detention deputies, then made statements about having HIV/AIDS.
Possible HIV Exposure
According to the reporting officer, the deputies had to be taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center to be evaluated for possible exposure to HIV, which caused the jail to run extremely short and delayed the movement of inmates.
Felony Charges
Beckley was subsequently charged with three counts of aggravated assault and battery on a corrections or detention officer - propels any dangerous substance, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both.
He was also charged with interference with a peace officer - no injury, a misdemeanor.
Total Bond Set at $4K Cash
On Wednesday, April 30, Beckley was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court on the charges.
Bond was set at $1,000 cash in his misdemeanor case and $3,000 cash in his felony case, and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, at 1:30 p.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
