Cheyenne Woman Facing Felony Conspiracy and Theft Charges
A 25-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing multiple charges, including two felonies, after being picked up on a warrant.
According to a booking sheet, Amber Rene Norman was arrested at 7:23 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 after a police officer, knowing Norman had an active warrant, spotted her in front of the Wendy's at 2520 E. Lincolnway.
Felony Warrant
When the officer ran Norman's name, she discovered Norman had an active felony warrant out of Laramie County for conspiracy to commit burglary and felony theft, both punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
Circuit Court Judge Sean C. Chambers signed the warrant on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Criminal Trespass Warning
The officer says Norman also had an active criminal trespass warning from the location.
Search Leads to Meth
Norman was handcuffed and searched and reportedly had a small container of suspected methamphetamine in her left-side pant pocket.
Norman was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident and booked on her warrant, a misdemeanor criminal trespass charge, and a misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine charge.
Total Bond Set at $12K Cash
Norman was seen on the three cases Tuesday, Oct. 15 in Circuit Court.
Her total bond was set at $12,000 cash -- $10,000 cash in the felony case consecutive to $2,000 cash in the misdemeanor cases -- and her preliminary hearing and arraignments were scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
