A 28-year-old Wyomingite is dead following a single-vehicle rollover crash west of Cheyenne, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 at milepost 5 on Happy Jack Road.

According to a fatality crash summary, a red Mercury sedan was headed westbound when the driver, Aspynn Gholson, crossed the centerline and eastbound lanes and went into the ditch.

"The vehicle struck a road approach and culvert, which caused the vehicle to vault into the air," the summary reads. "The vehicle traveled airborne over the right-of-way fence and ... collided with the ground, causing the vehicle to spin and roll."
