A Fort Collins chiropractor is facing felony charges of Unlawful Sexual Contact, and investigators say they think there may be other victims who have not come forward.

That's according to a post on the Fort Collins Police Services Facebook page.

According to the post, the investigation into Dr. Brian Rohrick started in January when a woman told police that Rohrick had inappropriately touched her over several visits to Peak Performance Chiropractic at 1315 Oakridge Drive.

As police continued their investigation, they found that a similar complaint had been filed by a different victim with the Department Of Regulatory Agencies [DORA]. Investigators reached out to her about those allegations as part of their probe into Dr. Rohrick.

Earlier this month investigators determined there was enough evidence in the case to file charges.

An arrest warrant was issued for two counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact, which is a Class Four Felony under Colorado law. One count was in connection to the 2019 report and the other was filed as a result of the January complaint.

According to the Colorado Legal Defense Group, Unlawful Sexual Contact is committed when:

  • You knowingly touch someone’s intimate parts without their consent,
  • You knowingly cause someone to touch your intimate parts without their consent, .

While the crime is usually a misdemeanor, it becomes a felony when

''the victim is drugged or compelled to submit to sexual contact by force, intimidation, or threat.''

The felony charges carry a potential penalty of 2-8 years in prison and potential fines of up to $500,000.

Dr. Rohrick turned himself into the Larmer County Detention Center according to the Fort Collins Police Services Facebook post. At his initial court appearance, Rohrick was released on his recognizance.

The police services post says investigators think there may be more victims based on the time frame between the alleged incidents and the similarity of the events.

Anyone who thinks they may have been victimized is being asked to call Fort Collins Police Detective Brandon Wootan at (970) 416-8027.
