Laramie County Fire District #1 says a Tuesday afternoon fire near Afflerbach School was eventually contained with the help of several agencies.

The fire was in the 3000 block of Terry Road

While the blaze was not far from the school, a post on the LCFD#1 Facebook page says firefighters and school officials were able to work together to keep students at the school safe.

Several Agencies Helped Fight The Fire

The post says several different agencies helped to control the fire and eventually extinguish it ''Thanks to LCFA, City of Cheyenne Fire and Rescue, Wyoming Air Guard Fire, FE Warren Fire Department, Laramie County Combined Communications, and Laramie County Sheriff's Department. Special thanks to South Cheyenne Water and Sewer District and Laramie County Public Works for the use of heavy equipment to aid with overhaul operations.''

The post says it took longer than usual to deal with the fire because of refuse, trees, and other items in the area
