Laramie County Candidate Filing For School Boards Starts Today

Today [Aug. 5] is the first day candidates can file to run for the Laramie County school districts 1 and 2 and Laramie County Community College governing boards.

It's likewise the first day to file to run for special districts in Laramie County.

Filing Runs Through August 24

That's according to Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee's office;:"Applications for school and college boards of trustees will be accepted in the election office Aug. 5 through 24.  Seats on the Laramie County School District #1 Board include one representative each for an at-large position and for Areas 1, 2 and 3. All are four-year terms.  Laramie County School District #2 positions include three at-large four-year-term positions, one for residence area D, and one two-year position to fill an unexpired term for residence area F. Candidates for area representatives must reside within their respective residence areas. 

Candidate applications are available on the Campaign Corner of the County Clerk’s election page at www.laramiecountywy.gov  or at the election office in the Laramie County Governmental Complex, 309 W 20^th St., Suite 1500.

             Candidates may file in person during business hours or send applications by email to election@laramiecountywy.gov, subject line Trustee Candidate [Candidate name], or fax 307-633-4240.   There is no filing fee."

You must be a registered voter who lives in the district you are running for office in to qualify. Candidatesfor these offices do not appear on the August 18th Primary Election ballot, but will be elected in te Nov. 3 General Election.
