🔥 Grass Fire Update – I-80 Area (Exit 310) 🔥
The grass fire near I-80 (Exit 310) is now MOSTLY contained. Fortunately, no structures were lost and no lives were harmed. We are incredibly grateful that the fire occurred on a night with light winds, which helped crews contain it quickly.

Original Post A fire has prompted an emergency evacuation order in the Laramie area.

Albany County Emergency Management has posted the following on Facebook:

GO! - Evacuation Ordered for the Area East of I-80 and West of the Laramie River to the North of Curtis Street, Laramie, WY. Evacuation Center at Albany County Fairgrounds 3510 S 3rd St.

Please avoid the area and allow responders to work.
The power has been shut off to most of West Laramie and will remain off until we can safely do so.

The Albany County Sheriff's Office posted the following on Facebook:
🔥Evacuation Order:The area East of I-80 and West of the Laramie River, North of Curtis Street is under evacuation.
👮‍♂️Law enforcement is going door-to-door to notify residents and assist with evacuations.
💡Power has been turned off in the fire area, affecting parts of West Laramie.
⛺️ Evacuees should go to the Albany County Fairgrounds (3510 S 3rd St).
⚠️ It is illegal and obstructs emergency vehicles to park on the highway—please avoid the area and let crews work safely.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation as our focus continues to be on public safety and evacuation efforts.
