A 52-year-old Pine Bluffs man was the victim of Tuesday's fatal shooting in southeast Laramie County, the Sheriff's Office disclosed Thursday.

According to a department Facebook postthe shooting occurred sometime before 4:22 p.m. in the 1200 block of County Road 157, about eight miles west of Pine Bluffs.

"Kevin Hefley was pronounced deceased at the scene," the post reads.

Investigation Ongoing

Sheriff Brian Kozak says they have interviewed everyone involved and have not made an arrest, but as is the case with all gun deaths, they're treating the case as a homicide.

"Detectives are still sorting it out," Kozak told KGAB Radio Thursday afternoon.

"Our deepest condolences go out to Kevin's family and friends in this difficult time," the post reads.
