The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says the Sierra Madre mountains could get up to 20 inches of snow and winds of up to 65 miles may blast other areas of SE Wyoming on Thursday.

Snow may also be seen in other areas of southeast Wyoming by Friday.

The agency posted the following statements and graphics on it's website:

: A High Wind Watch has been issued for portions of I-80 and I-25 Thursday afternoon for gusts up to 65 MPH. Mountain snow is expected to develop Thursday afternoon and continue through Friday with locally heavy snow accumulations possible across the higher peaks of the Sierra Madre Range.

After a very nice day Wednesday, the weather begins to take a turn south for the end of the week across southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle. Our next cold front moves into our western counties Thursday, with snow developing behind the front. Ahead of the front Thursday, very warm temperatures are expected east of the Laramie Range, with some locations reaching the mid 60s. Cold front sweeps through to the east Friday with colder temperatures and light snow for most locations, especially in the morning. Strong winds expected for the wind prone areas Friday night into Saturday as high pressure builds back into the area. High Wind Warnings may be needed for the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming during that time.
