Suspect Arrested After Shots Fired At Budweiser Events Center
A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shots fired incident that led to a lockdown of the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland Colo. on Saturday night.
That's according to a Facebook post from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
The agency says deputies were called to the events center shortly before midnight on Saturday on a report of shots being fired.
While deputies found several shell casings, no injuries or property damage were found, nor have any been reported in connection with the incident. A security hold was implemented while deputies conducted a sweep of the area.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the shots had been fired from a dark-colored sedan, and deputies spotted a vehicle matching that description on Fairgrounds Avenue. They tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped away. A car chase ensued, with the vehicle stopping in Windsor.
The driver then fled on foot, but deputies used a drone to find him hiding in a nearby field, where he was arrested. A handgun was found in the vehicle, according to the release.
The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Jesse Valdez of Denver. The release says Valdez was associated with a group that had been involved in several disturbances that night at a mixed martial arts event. According to the release, Valdez was arrested on the following charges:
