A Winter Weather Advisory for the Snowy Range and the northern Snowy Range foothills including Interstate 80 between Elk Mountain and Arlington has been expanded to include the northern Laramie Range.

The advisory is in effect from 5 p.m. this afternoon to 6 a.m. Friday.

Total snow accumulations of two to four inches, with up to nine inches above 9,000 feet, and wind gusts as high as 55 mph are expected in the northern Snowy Range foothills and the Snowy Range.

And seven to nine inches of snow with wind gusts as high as 50 mph are expected in the northern Laramie Range.

"Plan on slippery road conditions," the National Weather Service in Cheyenne said. "Blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility."
