WATCH: Wyoming Highway Patrol Releases Video of I-80 Crash as Reminder to Drive Safe
The Wyoming Highway Patrol posted a video on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon of a crash on Interstate 80 as a reminder to always drive safely.
According to the post, the crash, which was caught on a trucker's dashcam, happened on Aug. 20, 2023, near mile marker 97 in Sweetwater County, between Green River and Rock Springs.
The patrol says an SUV was traveling westbound when it struck the median cable barrier.
The crash resulted in damage to the guard rail and the vehicles involved, including the trucker's rig, which was hit by flying debris, but miraculously, no one was seriously injured.
"This video serves as a reminder of how circumstances can change in an instant while driving," the post reads.
The patrol encourages drivers to always maintain a safe distance, be aware of their surroundings, and avoid distractions.
