Lucas Calls Gray "The Right Man" For Congressional Seat
The post quotes Lucas as saying "I’ve worked with Secretary Gray closely on election integrity and other issues, and I can tell you that he is the right man to be our next member of Congress. When he saw the need to update the Election Code with respect to voter list maintenance, Secretary Gray worked with me to bring through an historic update of Wyoming state law with respect to the voter rolls. Chuck is making sure that the voter rolls are clean. As Wyoming’s member of Congress, Chuck will be a leader on promoting the common sense conservative priorities of the people of Wyoming."
Gray, a former member of the Wyoming House from Natrona County, is one of at least four Republican candidates vying for Wyoming's lone seat in Congress. The seat is currently held by Republican Harriet Hageman. Hageman is running for the U.S. Senate seat held by Republican Cynthia Lummis, who has announced her retirement.
Casper businessman Reid Rasner, U.S. Army veteran David Giralt, and former Wyoming Superintendent of Schools Jillian Balow have so far announced their candidacies for the House seat. More candidates could jump in before the official filing period in May.
Lucas, a former Cheyenne banker, is a vocal conservative who has represented House District 43 in the Wyoming House since January of 2025. In the House she has championed efforts to keep sexually explicit materials in libraries out of children and limiting state spending, among other causes.
She is also a member of the Wyoming Freedom Caucus, a group of very conservative lawmakers in the House.
