Casper businessman Reid Rasner says he is the most pro-business candidate running for Wyoming's lone seat in Congress.

Rasner conducted a phone interview with KGAB radio last week for the ''Weekend in Wyoming" program. It should be noted that at the time of the interview, Wyoming Senate President Bo Biteman had not yet entered the race for Congress. Biteman has since thrown his hat into the ring.

Rasner told Townsquare Media "I am the most pro-business in this race. 100 percent hands down."

Rasner says he sees finance and technology--or what he called fin-tech--as a possible growth industry for Wyoming. ''We're already using technology in our oil fields, we're already using technology in our agricultural sector, and obviously finance and technology go hand-in-hand with tourism, so it truly compliments our three core legacy industries. Building that fourth legacy industry. Building that fourth core legacy industry that Governor [Matt] Mead was working on so hard is something that I have been working on for the past 6 or 7 years.''

He went on to say that fin-tech could help ''break the boom or bust cycles that we continue to feel year-over-year."

Rasner Accuses Gray Of Supporting Wind Energy, Allowing Checkgate

Rasner had some harsh criticism for Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray, one of Rasner's rivals in the GOP congressional primary. While Gray has been steadily attacking wind projects in his campaign advertising, Rasner accused him of "voting for wind energy four separate times, giving up 6,000 of Wyoming land to Chinese Communist corporations to build windmills.....scarring Wyoming's landscape forever."

Rasner also said Gray "has allowed checkgate to happen" adding that it ''really does piss you off." When reminded that Gray was not present when a Teton County lobbyist gave checks to lawmakers on the House floor and played no part in the handing out of the money, Rasner said "He is the highest-ranking official overseeing election integrity, and his silence speaks louder than anything else."

A Wyoming House special investigative committee set up to investigate checkgate found no evidence of any crime being committed, although it did say such events should not happen in the future.

Townsquare Media will give Gray the opportunity to respond and to discuss his campaign on the "Weekend in Wyoming" program this coming Saturday. The program runs from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on AM 650, KGAB.

All other candidates will likewise be afforded time in coming weeks if they so desire.
