The Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office will auction off abandoned and court-forfeited vehicles on March 5 at the sheriff's office In Rock Springs.
Gates will open at 9:30, bidding will start at 10 a.m.
That's according to a post on the agency's Facebook page. Bids will start at $100 on some of the vehicles.
What Vehicles Are Up For Auction?
According to the post, the agency has the following cars up for auction:
- 2007 Saturn Ion (starting bid of $100);
- 2001 Suzuki Vitara (starting bid of $240);
- 2003 Pontiac Sunfire (starting bid of $100)
Where do the Cars Come From?
The post explains where the cars come from this way:
Did you happen to know? Our agency occasionally sells abandoned property. After trying to locate the original owner(s), we post notices in public places and publish them in newspapers before the items are auctioned to the public per Wyoming law.
We have no history on any of these vehicles, and most auctioned vehicles have no keys. All vehicles are auctioned as-is, with no warranties expressed or implied.
Cars purchased at the auction must be picked up by Friday, March 8, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Only cash will be accepted as payment.
