Luke Bryan’s 8-Year-Old Dance Partner Is Melting Hearts [Watch]
Luke Bryan's tour stopped at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday (June 2), where the singer performed for his biggest stadium crowd to date — but it may as well have been a show for one.
With more than 50,000 country fans in attendance, many young fans tagged along with their parents, and a few got time in the spotlight. Mid-set Bryan invited two girls up to the stage after he noticed a sign that read: "It's my 8th birthday. Can I dance with you, Luke?"
While the birthday girl herself was shy, simply staring at Bryan, her mom tells Taste of Country that's not normal. The girl in the pink hat is named Bella, and her mom, Jennifer Valerius, shares that her normally outgoing, nearly 8-year-old daughter froze up onstage. Their journey started when a stadium employee spotted her double-sided sign in the parking lot and moved them stage-side once Bryan's set began. From there, it was up to the singer to notice, and he did.
In the video above you'll see Bryan grab the birthday girl's hand to twirl her around the stage a few times before closing the song with a big bear hug, much to her delight. Believe it or not, this was Bella's very first concert — how can anything ever top it?
Earlier in the set, Bryan was singing his 2011 No. 1 hit "I Don't Want This Night to End" when he noticed a different young fan in the crowd. While performing the song on the stage's catwalk, he bent over to high-five a boy who was being held up above the crowd. Bryan liked his dancing and invited him to the stage.
Bryan's What Makes You Country Tour continues through the summer, with more stadium and amphitheater stops planned. He will perform as part of CMA Fest in Nashville on Sunday (June 10) at Nissan Stadium.
