A Woodbury, Minnesota native was sentenced to prison in Albany County District Court on Thursday for felony drug possession.

Jacob Richard Lindekugel, 22, was sentenced to three to five years in prison with credit for time served after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance MDMA.

The prosecution dismissed three other charges.

Judge Donnell included a recommendation for the youthful offender/boot camp program in the sentencing order.

Court documents say Lindekugel was arrested in the Walmart parking lot on March 27 after officers of the Laramie Police Department responded to a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) report was called in by an off-duty officer on a white Chevrolet Cruze that Lindekugel was traveling in with his girlfriend Danielle Marie Miller.

Miller, the driver, failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI.  Police say Lindekugel was asked to step out of the car, and an officer searched the vehicle.  The defense later raised questions about the legitimacy of that search.

According to court documents, the search turned up multiple bags of Marijuana, a digital scale with unspecified drug residue, a prescription pill bottle for Hydrocodone prescribed to Lindekugel with “a large amount” of Xanax and one Diazepam pill inside, a bag of five individually wrapped methamphetamine crystals, and a baggy of MDMA.

The affidavit says that Lindekugel told police during an interview that he was an associate with the Aryan Nations and was taking the meth to someone with the Soldiers of Aryan Culture in Salt Lake City. Lindekugel stated that his contact in Salt Lake City was going to kill him for not delivering the drugs.
