Optimist Dog Park Closure
A portion of the large dog friendly off-leash fenced area at Optimist Park will be closed from August 3rd to August 21st for re-seeding as well as additional fencing to be installed around the large trees. This closure will also accommodate the addition of a new bench and a dog drinking fountain.
Access can still be found at the transfer area entrance and the small dog friendly area will remain open to small and large dogs.
In addition, the dog friendly off leash area at 22nd and Harney north of the Aragon softball complex will remain open.
Parks staff requests that the public not cross the construction fencing to allow the seeding to germinate and become fully established.
For more information, please contact Laramie Parks and Recreation Director Paul Harrison at 307-721-5260 or Parks Manager David Schott at 307-721-5264.
