Rapper Sir Mix A Lot To Perform At Cheyenne Depot Plaza July 20th
Cheyenne likes big boots and we cannot lie. Make that butts. The Community Recreation and Events Department just announced a concert with hip hop legend Sir Mix A Lot, who will perform at the Depot Plaza on Saturday, July 20th.
The "Baby Got Back" rapper is part of the city's expanded Fridays in The Plaza lineup, which will run from June 7th through August 30th. In addition to 13 weekly concerts and the Sir Mix A Lot show, the extended summer series will also include a Cheyenne Day performance from Thumpin' and Boogie Machine on Wednesday, July 24th. The concerts will be free to the public and all ages are welcome.
Born Anthony Ray, Sir Mix A Lot rose to fame in 1992 with the multi-platinum album Mack Daddy. His chart-topping single "Baby Got Back" won the 1993 Grammy Award for Best Solo Rap Performance. The Seattle native has released several albums since and continues to tour around the world. The July 20th concert will be the first time he has performed in Cheyenne.
